The recent floods that occurred March-April 2024 due to climate change negatively impacted on JAM beneficiaries practicing both horticulture and cereals in the four targeted areas of Rangwe, Rachuonyo North, Rachuonyo South and Rachuonyo East sub-counties in Homabay county. The disaster affected communities irrespective of their class, age or sex. However the children and women were more affected due to Malaria as result of mosquitos increase, outbreak of water-borne diseases(Bilharzia) and lack of safe waste disposal management. This affected negatively on the general crop yields and lack of livestock fodder.
